His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn commanded upon his coronation that “I shall sustain, preserve and continue and shall reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the people forever.” With a strong commitment to follow His Majesty’s aspiration in working for national development and improvement of Thai people’s livelihood, the Crown Property Bureau has partnered with organisations such as the Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University (Ramathibodi Hospital), the Faculty of Dentistry of Chulalongkorn University and Banphaeo Hospital. (Public Organisation) Altogether, partner organisations have initiated “Happy and Healthy Citizen” project by the Crown Property Bureau and medical volunteers to offer a variety of medical care and treatments ranging from vision check-up, cataract surgery and dental care. These free-of-charge services are available through mobile medical units in which doctors and medical staff travel to provincial areas in order give quality healthcare for Thai people of all backgrounds.
“One Sight, One Heart” initiative under “Happy and Healthy Citizen” project by the Crown Property Bureau and medical volunteers is an initiative led by SCG Foundation, the Crown Property Bureau and partner organisations. With more than 26,000 patients waiting to undergo cataract surgery each year, the purpose of the initiative is to offer cataract surgery for local patients who may not have access to quality vision care. This initiative will be active from today until 31st August 2023.
Every support of 8,000 THB can provide the cost for one side of sight-restoring surgery and can be entitled to 100% tax deduction. All contributors are eligible to receive a certificate of contribution through https://forms.gle/BK9P G1sxPSzZXwTFA.
In 2022, the project offered cataract and dental treatments for patients in various provinces as follows :
First round (Eye surgery unit) : At Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 50th Anniversary Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani from 13th – 15th July 2022 for 114 patients
Second round (Eye surgery and dental unit) : At Uthai Thani Hospital and Uthai Thani Town Municipality Office, Uthai Thani from 10th – 12th August 2022 for 268 patients
Third round (Eye surgery and dental unit) : At Lom Sak Hospital, Phetchabun from 12th – 14th October 2022 for 453 patients
Fourth round (Eye surgery and dental unit) : At Phetchabun Hospital, Phetchabun from 26th – 28th October 2022 for 461 patients
